I am a huge fan of Mexican food, and this place hit on all the numbers. It's small, and busy. The waiting time was long, but not unreasonable. By far some of the best Mexican food I've had in Nashville, so it was definitely worth the wait. The staff was friendly, and they cleared the table quick knowing that they had to turn it around fast. I will be going back!

East Nashville Hotspot!! Parking can be a bit tricky and it’s a bit hard to spot if you’ve never been before, but I absolutely love this place. The food is great, and the service is prompt, courteous, and professional. The space itself is fun and laid back. Expect the place to be loud and vibrant.

We love the food here. It seems like any of the Mexican restaurants in East Nashville all have the same menu and that's not the case here. The food is good, service is great and they make awesome margaritas. It's our new favorite place.

So we sort of found this place by accident. It just happened to be between the AirBnB we were staying at and the grocery store we were planning to go to to stock our fridge. It doesn't really look like the type of place you might normally wander into, but if you do you will not regret it.

Their food is absolutely fantastic and very fairly priced. My wife and I each had two margaritas, a generous entree and all the chips and salsa we could eat and our bill after taxes was less than $40. Speaking of salsa, they will bring you two salsas with chips. One is a more traditional red salsa which is homemade and very good and then another that comes out in a smaller bowl. This second salsa almost looks like a ceviche blend or a coarse cut pico de gallo. I asked if it had a name and it doesn't seem to have an official name other than "salsa picante," it's an in-house concoction featuring red onion, jalapeños, lime juice, white wine, salt and other ingredients. It's delicious.

I followed our server's recommendation and got the Suadero Tacos, my wife had the Fajita Taco Salad and our friends got some of the same things we got and the Fajitas Fiesta. Everyone absolutely loved their food, the portions were very generous, the price was right and the servers and staff were awesome. We all agreed that El Fuego is now officially on our mandatory East Nashville dining rotation.

The bottom line: The food here is great, the prices are great and the staff is great. If you like this style of food do yourself a favor and don't pass this up.
